Demystifying The Chinese Economy
The thirst for knowledge is always my drive towards a more carefree living as I always feel the urge to know more and to demystify especially important things in life which affects mine significantly. One of these must be investment and for me, a major topic is obviously how has China come around to become the world’s top economy and is that 6.5 to 7% annual growth still sustainable? Would China be able to achieve its promise of doubling the GDP and income by 2020 under the 13th 5 year Plan? All these answers may point directions to investments. I just heard a very good talk from Prof Lin Yefu (Chief Economist of World Bank to 2012) on Demystifying The Chinese Economy which I love to share with you. Professor Lin has a very interesting history- he is a former Taiwanese military officer who defected to the PRC in 1979 pursuing his ambitions, you may like to find out more here.
