You’d be surprised to find that most of the educated public in the world’s most developed countries were beaten by chimpanzees when it comes to knowing/guessing some important ‘facts’! And here’s an interesting and entertaining talk on How not to be ignorant about the world! I love what he said in the middle of this talk – “the problem is not that people don’t read and listen to the media. The problem is that the media doesn’t know themselves!” Mind you, it might sound too simplistic or weird, but think about it- does it work?
Many of you may have watched the famous and entertaining 2006 TED talk on statistics (with 11 million views) –The best stats you’ve ever seen by Hans Rosling – the renowned Swedish ‘edutainer’, with his highly entertaining and informative talks on statistics of crucial global data in charts of data moving with time. Unfortunately, he died in last month (February 2017), but he’s survived by his son, Ola who joined his father in this fantastic TED talk in 2014- “How not to be ignorant about the world”.
