If you want or hold a China Driving License, read on for the latest update and tools. Information below would be useful to those residing in Hong Kong in particular.
- Want to get a China Driving Licence which would allow you to drive in Mainland China and you’re in Hong Kong? – you can do it the cheap DIY way which is rather complicated and time consuming- check this site. But the easiest and quickest is to pay more (around HK$1,500) and use one of the agents in Hong Kong to do the tedious task for you, e.g. Hungchun 鏗鏘駕駛學校 ; or LeeKin , they have offices in both Hong Kong and Kowloon. The first licence would valid for 6 years, and renewed ones for 10 years. If you really need to go to Shenzhen for a trip to get it, the agent would have staff there to meet and guide you all the way. See blow excerpt from the Official site :- 问：香港居民持深圳驾驶证期满换证所需资料
答：香港身份证原件，回乡证原件，深圳驾驶证，深圳派出所开具的《境外人员临时住宿登记表》，深圳照相馆的驾驶证数码照相回执，4张照片，深圳医院的《机动车驾驶人身体条件证明》。以上资料缺一不可。 - Annual body check certificate requirement Update – It used to be a rule that if you’re over 60 years old, you need an annual “body check certificate” , but the latest (from around 2016) the requirement has been waived to until age 70 IF you drive only small cars (e.g. Class C1, C2, C3) AND you don’t have any outstanding driving offence recrod (see 3 below). 答：B1、B2、A1、A2、A3驾驶证在一个记分周期内有记分的及持有其它准驾车型驾驶员发生交通事故造成人员死亡承担同等以上责任未被吊销机动车驾驶证的及校车驾驶人需要审验，在各区交警大队进行不少于三小时的学习，学习完毕以后持《接受教育凭证》在就近车管所进行审验。如果一个记分周期内没有扣分，则不需要审验。校车驾驶人每年审验需要先去交警大队学习接受教育，最后持《机动车驾驶人身体条件证明》到车管所或交警大队进行审验。非校车驾驶人办理审验业务前需要填写《机动车驾驶人身体情况申报表》（并自备一张照片）。可审验的单位有：各交警大队，西丽、龙华、龙岗、宝安、光明、坪山、福田、罗湖车管所、深业、盐田、东益、前海服务站。需深圳市网上车管所（网址：http:cgs.stc.gov.cn/）预约后至所预约的车管所办理审验即可。 - Online Check of any driving offence record – for any reason, if you want to check this, you can now it Online! First check you issuing Police unit (typically for HK residents, it’d be the Shenzhen Security Bureau and here is the link to the Online check page where you need to enter your License No. including the no. in (), and you have to add a “F” in front of it, also the Case No. which is on the Supplementary Page of your license (see photo above)- Easy!
